In this bold production of Shakespeare's classic, sweet-natured Bianca has no shortage of suitors, but tradition forbids her to marry before her older sister, the strong-willed and sharp-tongued Kate. When the swaggering outsider Petruchio arrives, he hatches a plan to win Kate's hand, but romancing an independent woman who volleys insults at lightning speed isn't easy. Wordplay crackles and passions run high as this iconoclastic couple forges an unconventional path to love. Director Shana Cooper turns the tables on tradition, inviting audiences to reconsider courtship, gender and power in this uproarious comedy.
