1. Overview

Storytown is a non-profit organization. It runs the Storytown app and storytownashland.com, a curated guide to Rogue Valley events. Storytown uses Rova to power its listings and its accounts. Rova is run by Rova Live Inc., 5 North Main Street #2, Ashland, Oregon.

When you sign in to Storytown, you have a Rova account, and Rova processes that account's data under Rova's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Those documents govern your account, RSVPs and tickets, the emails and notifications you get, the events you submit, and who they are shared with.

This page covers what is specific to Storytown: the app itself, and the analytics Storytown's app and website collect.

2. Using Storytown Without an Account

You can browse events without signing in. The app and website still collect usage analytics (section 4).

3. Your Account

On the website, you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. In the app, you sign in with your email and a password, or with an email code in some places. Rova stores passwords only in hashed form. Your account holds your name, your email address, the venues, artists and organizers you follow, the events you save, and your notification settings. Rova's Privacy Policy lists everything Rova keeps and why.

Venues, artists and organizers see follows and saves only as counts. Following them doesn't tell them who you are.

4. Analytics on Storytown

Website

storytownashland.com uses PostHog for product analytics. It sets a cookie and records how people use the site, such as pages viewed, actions like saving, sharing or submitting an event, and errors, along with device, browser and an approximate location worked out from your IP address.

App

The app uses PostHog to record when it is opened and actions like following, saving, sharing and opening notifications, along with device, operating system and app version.

The app also uses Sentry, an error-tracking service, to fix bugs. It reports crashes and errors with device details and your IP address. It also records a replay of the app's screens for a sample of sessions, and for sessions that hit an error.

When You're Signed In

When you sign in on the app or the website, we link PostHog analytics events to your Rova account ID only. We don't send your name or email address to PostHog.

5. Notifications and Reminders

If you allow notifications in the app, it sends its push token to Rova, and Rova delivers notifications through Expo. Event reminders you set are scheduled on your device. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your device settings.

Every digest or marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can also change your email settings in the app.

6. Who We Share It With

We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising. Storytown's app and website share information with:

• Rova — your account, and everything listed in Rova's Privacy Policy, including its own service providers
• PostHog — usage analytics (section 4)
• Sentry — app crash and error reports (section 4)
• OpenStreetMap — the website's map loads its tiles, so it sees your IP address

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Events link to ticketing sites and host websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

7. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account in the app, or on rova.live under Account → Security. Deletion removes your account and your sign-in, along with your saved events, follows and notification settings. The app also clears its reminders and saved state on your device.

It does not remove order history, tickets, email records or analytics already recorded. Email info@rova.live if you want those removed. If you are the only owner of a workspace on Rova, make someone else an owner before you delete your account.

8. Your Choices

To get a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted, email info@rova.live from your account's email address. These choices apply to everyone, wherever you live. We won't treat you differently for asking.

9. Children

Storytown isn't for children under 13, and accounts require you to be at least 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll have it deleted.

10. Security and Storage

The app and website use HTTPS. Your information is stored with hosting providers in the United States. No system is perfectly secure.

11. Changes

We'll post changes on this page and update the date at the top. Rova's Privacy Policy says how Rova tells account holders about changes to it.
