White Rabbit presents

As storyteller Andri Snær Magnason puts it, climate change is like a black hole: so big that it’s larger than language. We understand it not by looking straight at its center, but by looking at its periphery, its edges.
In this film, Andri searches for the stories at these edges in both scientific data and family memory, retracing his grandparents’ annual spring journey to Vatnajökull glacier with his son Hlynur to witness the loss of Europe’s largest ice cap. Mapping this mythological-scale change onto the immediacy of his personal stories and experiences, Andri considers the ties of continuity and love that connect us backward and forward through time to past and future generations.
This screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion using the Engagement Guide provided by the filmmakers. Through spaces of reflection, discussion, and practice, the Guide offers ways to weave these stories with our own; to open a dialogue and share values within our community; and to cultivate a living connection with our landscape.
