About

An intensive hands-on workshop focusing on large-scale ceramic sculpture creation using modified coil techniques. Participants will learn to build sculptures as single pieces or in sections, suitable for animals, figures, urns, planters, and abstract forms. The workshop covers clay selection, strong attachments, construction techniques, wall thickness management, surface decoration, glazing considerations, firing schedules, and repair methods.

Skill level ranges from beginner to advanced (some clay experience helpful). Participants should come prepared with sketches or ideas and printed reference images. Each participant receives a three-page handout covering workshop techniques. One bag of sculpture clay is included; additional clay available for $30 per bag. Firing fees are separate based on piece size.
