An immersive, hands-on workshop exploring the fundamentals of raku firing—an exciting and unpredictable ceramic firing process. Suitable for intermediate to advanced participants, the workshop covers clay bodies, cracking prevention, firing techniques, glazing methods, and surface treatments that create raku's signature effects.

Participants will receive instruction on raku safety and techniques (2:00–3:00 PM), then glaze their own bisque-fired vase (3:00–3:30 PM). The highlight is experiencing the raku firing process firsthand, removing pieces from the kiln and completing the reduction process (3:30–6:00 PM). Each participant leaves with a finished one-of-a-kind handmade vase and new skills to continue exploring raku ceramics.
