Cage Free Concerts presents Nic Gareiss and Simon Chrisman in a signature performance pairing hammered dulcimer with percussive dance and foot percussion. The duo met in 2007 at a fiddle festival and have been exploring sound and movement together ever since, weaving traditional percussive dance, instrumental tunes, improvisations, traditional songs, and new compositions through interlocking rhythms and dynamic textures.

Nic Gareiss is a percussive dancer and vocalist recognized by Dance Magazine as one of the "25 to Watch," known for his inventive Irish and Appalachian step dancing. Simon Chrisman is an accomplished hammered dulcimer player and vocalist, well-known for his work with Kittel & Co. and the Bee Eaters, combining chamber music arrangements with bluegrass virtuosity and pop sensibility.
