Vesper Meadow presents
Join a fall exploration of mushrooms at Vesper Meadow with local mushroom enthusiast Vanessa Manzano and SOLC staff member Tara Laidlaw. Take a leisurely walk through the forest learning to identify fungi through shape, color, size, habitat, spore prints, and field guides. Discover the important roles fungi play in healthy ecosystems and their relationships with plants, animals, and soil.
The walk includes a nature journaling component led by Tara, where participants will have time to sketch, write, observe, and reflect on the mushrooms and forest surroundings. No artistic experience or prior mushroom identification knowledge is necessary—just bring curiosity and a willingness to notice the interconnected life around you. Note: This is an educational walk, not a harvesting event. Free; registration required.
