Creation Stories: Where the Crow Lights & the Story Trail 1st Friday Opening

A world-renowned trompe l'oeil muralist whose "trick-of-the-eye" illusions have captivated viewers for over three decades, Pugh is turning the west wall of the downtown Elks Building into a theatrical land acknowledgment. The gallery traces three threads of the history across three walls: the Indigenous heritage of the Shasta and Takelma peoples, Ashland's pioneer history, and the rise of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival from the old Chautauqua Dome.

You'll get an up-close look at imagery from the mural, a behind-the-scenes peek at OSF, and a first reveal of the Story Trail that will let visitors walk this history through augmented, place-based storytelling.
